Central Oregon . . . Come Train with the Pros! HSBCAMPS Returns to Bend July 2011
Portland - Three years ago, a little known youth basketball outfit rolled into Central Oregon, with a group of young professional ball players, eager to work with kids. Today, HSBCAMPS is the fastest growing youth basketball program in America and leader in bringing kids of all ages face-to-face with the pros. Feeding off their success of the last two years, HSBCAMPS will return to Bend this summer bigger and better than ever. Run by a more than impressive coaching staff, last years group was headlined by former NBA player Felipe Lopez, a Dominican Republic native who at one time was the best high school basketball player in the United States. Lopez along with various international and minor league players will return to Summit High School for the Clinic and Day Camp slated for July 11 to July 14, 2011.

From team competitions to individual contests, players will participate in fun, instructional work under the direction of the HSBCAMPS staff, comprised of collegiate and professional coaches and players. The HSBCAMPS Morning Clinic and Day Camp are geared towards teaching and developing the fundamentals of basketball for boys and girls in elementary, middle and high school grades. The Morning Clinic is open to youth in grades K through three. The Day Camp is open to youth in grades four through 12.

“Last year was a big year for us in Bend, with the addition of NBA veteran Felipe Lopez,” explains Carson Sofro, HSBCAMPS Founder. “His knowledge of the game and his energy provided something very special at camp everyday. I am really looking forward to having him back as well as new pieces to our rapidly growing staff.” Registration for the event opened January 1, 2011, and event planners are pleased to announce that over half of the available slots have already been reserved for the upcoming camp. “We pushed this years camp back a week to avoid the holiday, and reduced our prices quite a bit,” shared Sofro. “These changes have been very well received and we have already had more registration to date than we did all of last year.” HSBCAMPS prides itself as a youth basketball program that “gives back”, donating a portion of every programs proceeds to schools and non-profits within each of the communities they serve. With more than $50,000 raised to date, HSBCAMPS stands firm in its commitment to provide every child, regardless of age or income, with an opportunity to attend.

In addition to Bend, Oregon, the nationally expanding youth basketball camp will also be serving up high scoring experiences in Dallas, Texas; Rockwall, Texas; Houston, Texas; Boise, Idaho; Hailey, Idaho; Twin Falls, Idaho; Medford, Ore.; Park City, Utah; and Bellevue, Wash.
