Family-Owned Business Survives Recession, Eminent Domain Move
Denver - In late 2005, Charlie and Marie Pierce learned that they would need to move their flooring business to make room for the River Point at Sheridan redevelopment near South Santa Fe Drive and Oxford St.

The Pierces found a suitable building on Hampden Avenue just west of Santa Fe (2095 West Hampden Ave.) and over the past five years, have remodeled the building and re-built their business, Pro! Flooring Brokers (www.pro-flooring.com). Their company is one of only a handful of about 25 businesses that have survived being displaced due to the eminent domain process.

Charlie started working for his brother-in-law as a carpet installer at a very young age and then he and wife Marie opened their own business in 1986. Today, they have four employees including one installer who has been with them 24 years. “We’re a complete design store with professional services at competitive prices,” Marie explains. “We provide exceptional products and excellent customer service for our residential and commercial customers.”

Pro! Flooring Brokers features a 6,500-sq. ft. showroom that displays the best selection of all types of flooring products. “We also will bring samples out to the customer’s location so they can see how their purchase will look with their actual lighting,” Marie adds.

In spite of their move and the slower economy the past few years, Pro! Flooring Brokers has thrived and is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a grand re-opening beginning in November. “We appreciate the business of our many customers throughout our 25 years of business and all of their repeat business, too,” Marie says. “We invite the public to visit our newly remodeled showroom and take advantage of some of the specials we’re running.”

Pro! Flooring Brokers has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Marie serves on the Planning Commission for the City of Sheridan, is an affiliate of the South Metro Denver Realtor® Association and a member of the BNI Connections of Lone Tree. Charlie and Marie have two children and two grandchildren, and are residents of Highlands Ranch.
