Local Spokane, Washington company gains International Recognition |
- SPOKANE, WA – Cascade Windows, a privately held vinyl window and patio door manufacturer, has donated a total of 68 windows to the internationally recognized Millard Fuller Center for Housing, founded by Millard Fuller who also founded Habitat for Humanity, International. The Cascade Windows donation is valued at approximately $10,000.
Cascade Windows’ donation will accommodate all the vinyl window needs for the ten families who have been selected to receive new homes in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 2010 Millard Fuller Legacy Build, the annual building project for the Millard Fuller Center for Housing.
“We are extremely grateful to Cascade Windows and their employees for their generous donation,” said Glen Barton, Vice President of US Field Operations for the Fuller Center for Housing. “Without the donations like that of Cascade Windows, we would not be able to provide housing for those in desperate need.”
Starting with only an empty plot of land, approximately 600 volunteers from around the United States will participate in constructing the ten homes in Indianapolis in just five days. The Legacy Build will take place from Sept. 6-10, 2010.
“It is our extreme pleasure to be a part of this significant housing project,” said Randy Emerson, President of Cascade Windows. “It is our hope that this donation will not only support the Legacy Build and the Fuller Center for Housing mission, but also serve as an example to other individuals and companies to actively support non-profits like the Fuller Center for Housing.”
In Indianapolis, the 2010 Millard Fuller Legacy Build will kick off on Saturday, September 4th with the Miracle Mile Parade, a concert at Garfield Park and fireworks. The initiative will conclude on Friday, September 10th with the dedications of the homes, followed by a celebration known as the "Passing of the Hammer" to the next host city for the Legacy Build. Cascade Windows will be recognized publicly in Indianapolis for their donation.
