- Mirador senior living community invites local residents to join in the celebration as it officially kicks off its Grand Opening celebrations on October 17. The public is invited to the official Open House on October 22, which will offer live entertainment, food stations with delicious samples, giveaways and a health and fitness demonstration. The open house will also provide an opportunity for personal tours of the community, which features a pool, spa, fitness center, fine dining room, media room, elegant apartment homes of various sizes and a complete health services community. It will be the first opportunity for the public to enjoy direct access to the new community. Mirador is the first “life care” community in the region.
“This week has been full of so many exciting events,” said Cindy Waldron, executive director of Mirador. “The Open House will be a fun way for the Coastal Bend community to get to know Mirador and the many amazing residents and staff that give the community its unique character.”
Located in the heart of south Corpus Christi, Mirador is the area’s only full service life care senior living community. The $79 million gated community includes 125 customized independent living apartment homes, each with a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and 24-hour emergency response system, as well as 44 private assisted living suites, 41 private rooms for dignified nursing care, and 18 private residences for memory support. Designed to enrich the lives of seniors, Mirador features 25,000 square feet of commons areas on a lush 17-acre campus with a premier location close to local restaurants, shops and attractions.
Mirador was designed by Dallas-based three Architecture, one of the nation’s leading firms for senior living communities. Mirador incorporates some of the latest design elements for continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), including green materials and building methods to protect the environment, and special storm-safe engineering to protect residents during major storms—part of an overall Hurricane Preparedness Program at Mirador. The interior design is by Maryland-based Bridget Bohazc + Associates, which has provided design solutions for Mirador sister communities in Dallas and Fort Worth.
