WAKE COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS LOCAL GRANTS

RALEIGH - The Board of Directors of the Wake County Community Foundation announces six grant awards from its community fund, according to Jeff Raxlin, board treasurer.

                This year’s nonprofit recipients include:

·         Southern Wake Faith Community in Action - $2,000 for its Temporary Housing and Rental Assistance Project

·         Inter-Faith Food Shuttle - $250 for its Summer Nutrition Program

·         SAFEChild - $500 for its PLUS Program to reduce child abuse and support children’s successful development

·         The Fletcher Academy - $1,000 for its Culinary Arts program

·         Christian Life Home - $1,500 for roof repair of one of its program’s homes

·         Open Door Baptist Church - $800 for Restoration Ministries.

Raxlin thanked the community for support of the Wake Community Foundation.  “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” he said.  “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported Wake County’s community fund.”
