- DAVENPORT, Iowa--Kaplan University, a leading provider of online postsecondary education, announced today that it will launch the first-ever virtual chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. SHRM will officially induct Kaplan University in an Aug. 26 chartering ceremony.
“This is an historic event for Kaplan University as it provides a platform for Kaplan’s working adult students to connect socially and professionally at times that are convenient for them,” Steven Cates, DBA, SPHR, Professor of Human Resource Management at Kaplan University and the chapter’s national advisor. “We are thrilled that our SHRM members will have access to exciting benefits, including online and local networking opportunities and presentations from high-ranking HR professionals, all with the goal of helping Kaplan’s chapter members advance professionally.”
With approximately 50 student members, Kaplan University now joins the more than 575 affiliate chapters in the United States and abroad that belong to SHRM.
