Triangle -

Cary, N.C., Oct. 5, 2009 — S&A Cherokee’s executive vice president, Chuck Norman, APR, has been appointed to the advisory committee of Wake Technical Community College’s Business and Industry Services Division. The division provides customized employee training for area businesses ranging from industrial and clerical to supervisory and management occupations.

“Mr. Norman’s expertise in public relations and business will be a valuable contribution to our team as we help existing businesses grow and expand collaboration with other organizations,” said Wayne Loots, dean of Business and Industry Services.

Norman has held numerous leadership positions in the business community over the past several years including the following: Board of Directors, SearStone; Treasurer, Board of Directors and 2010 Chair-Elect, Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce; 2004-2006 President, Raleigh Public Relations Society; Board of Directors and 2009 President-Elect, North Carolina Public Relations Society of America; and Board of Directors, Cary MacGregor Rotary Club. He will use his experience with these organizations to assist in building a strong program for students of WTCC. The program’s goal is to provide opportunities and knowledge that will help entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses.

“I commend Wake Tech for continuing to grow this program and am honored to be a part of the advisory committee,” said Norman. “The Business and Industry Services Division has supported existing industry with educational opportunities and training for many years, and it is a valuable economic development incentive for interested companies moving to Wake County.”
