Wells Wins BOMA Award at University Circle, East Palo Alto
Atlanta -

Upscale Property Is Silicon Valley ‘Office Building of the Year’

NORCROSS – Wells REIT II, a real estate investment trust specializing in Class-A office properties, has won its latest “Office Building of the Year” award, for University Circle in California’s Silicon Valley.

The three-building, 450,000-square-foot property in East Palo Alto, Calif., was honored with the TOBY award – The Office Building of the Year – by the Silicon Valley chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association, in the suburban office park midrise category.  University Circle is home to tenants including top law firms Bingham McCutchen, Dewey & LeBoeuf, and DLA Piper.

The property, which will now compete for regional BOMA honors, was acquired by Wells REIT II in 2005.  Located along U.S. Highway 101, it features Brazilian granite and Italian limestone exteriors, and dramatic fountains in a courtyard setting.  It has been recognized with the ENERGY STAR® seal from the Environmental Protection Agency, for energy efficiency.

University Circle is managed by Wells Real Estate, which provides in-house and third-party asset and property management services for more than 26 million square feet of Class-A office space, as well as build-to-suit and other real estate services.

Wells REIT II owns 85 office and industrial buildings in 23 states; Washington, D.C.; and Moscow, Russia, covering more than 20 million square feet. For more information on the REIT, visit www.WellsREITII.com.

Wells REIT II is a program of Wells Real Estate Funds, a national real estate investment company founded in suburban Atlanta in 1984.  In its history, Wells investment offerings – current and closed – have invested more than $12 billion in real estate for more than 250,000 investors.  For more information about Wells Real Estate Funds, see www.WellsREF.com
