Advanced Healthcare Solutions Announces Pro-active Approach to Breast Health with Thermal Imaging
Triangle -

Open House to showcase benefits of Thermal Imaging for breast screening Thursday, December 10th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Advanced HealthCare Solutions (AHS) in Raleigh.

Raleigh, NCNovember 28, 2009 -- Recently the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) released a series of reports updating their guideline recommendations for screening mammography for the early detection of breast cancer.  At best their conclusions will increase discussion about the benefits, risks and harms of screening for breast cancer; at their worst the confusion can lead women to do nothing since the experts can’t seem to make up their minds.

After increasing for more than 2 decades, female breast cancer incidence rates decreased by about 2% per year from 1999 to 2006 with larger decreases in women younger than 50. These decreases are believed to be the result of earlier detection through screening, increased awareness, less use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), as well as improved treatment. (American Cancer Society)

Though in use for over a decade, Digital breast thermography, or Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI), can be considered cutting edge as many women are not aware of what it is and how it works and if they have heard of it, want to know its advantages and accuracy.

Sharon Cutler, Director of Clinical Thermography at Advanced Healthcare Solutions said, “Thermography is a noninvasive, non-radiation screening procedure that detects and records infrared heat emissions from the breast without the pain and discomfort of a mammogram.  Compared with mammography, 7 out of 10 times infrared imaging is the first alarm that something is happening
